# What the badges mean

This is educational. A badge on this site is not a government certification, not an SBA approval, and not a SCORE endorsement.

## Turnkey Ready

A seller badge. It is on only when the seller marks all three: verified financials, a clean diligence file, and a transition plan. The seller can attach a note or a file to each one. NewHands stores that file for the seller. NewHands does not audit it. On a sample listing the badge is sample. The field on the listing document is turnkeyReady. certified is true only when the three criteria are true.

## Directory verified

A practice appears in the directory only after a person at NewHands has checked the claim. Until then the category says that no practice in the view has been verified. An unverified claim is labeled as the practice's own submission. Email is stored for the review and is not shown. There is no paid placement.

## Proof of funds

The buyer readiness score has a box for proof of funds. Checking it adds the published weight to a teaching score. It does not upload a bank statement, and NewHands does not verify one. A seller who needs proof should ask the buyer, through the NDA process, for documents their own advisor will read. Do not treat the score as that proof.

## What NewHands does not badge

Creditworthiness, a broker's skill, a fair price, or a license to sell securities or to broker a business. Those are other people's jobs. State licensing is state law. This page does not summarize it.
